Author: I’ve seen this before, but it’s just nuts: these guys take a 50 cal. machine gun and fire it at a katana sitting in a vice. The reason? They want to see if a katana could actually deflect and split bullets fired at the person holding it.
Remarkably, it does. Sure, it eventually breaks, but in the slow-motion replay, you see it taking on a massive amount of bullets before doing so.

Interesting. I liked the close-up of the broken blade towards the end. At the place where it sheared, the lamination layers from the repeated folding during forging were visible.
