People Come and Walk Beside Me — Stroudsburg, November 28th, 2008

It’s been a few days since we got back from Stroudsburg, so I figured I’d best get this done now before I forget more. Better late than never, right?
This past weekend saw the yearly gathering of hobos in Stroudsburg, PA, as Railroad Earth pitched its tent in the Sherman Theater for two nights. Since the […]

“Yeah, it gets real slappy and snotty,” February 2nd, 2008

Night three, the final night of the Mexicali Blues run by Railroad Earth. The body was beginning to ache but the spirit was most assuredly still willing. We got to the club early — around 8:30 — and prompty met a large amount of people who we’ve come to know over the past three years. […]

Now this was nice. Papa Phil wrote the setlists because it was his birthday. However, the band sort of veered off-course with Mission Man and never really looked back. Warhead was supposed to go there instead, but Jimmy was wearing his custom-made Mission Man t-shirt which caught Todd’s eye, so they launched into that.
First set […]

What a way to ride, Oh what a way to go - January 31st, 2008

Yeah! Now this is how to kick off a three night run at Mexicali Blues! Pull out some of the lesser-played-of-late tunes for the smaller weeknight crowd and blow everyone’s minds. There were so many fantastic moments last night, but the ones I will comment on are these:
The Carrying Coal to Newcastle > Mighty River […]

Outside the ice has come again to dwell… Penn’s Peak, 12.30.07

At a week’s remove from the show, I’m finally able to write a little bit about this particular night. Penn’s Peak has to be the best venue in the northeast, if not the country, to see a show. Sitting on top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere, aka Jim Thorpe, PA, this massive […]

Quick review of Morristown

That was certainly fun. The Seven Story Mountain was beautifully trippy, the Head rocked hard, Buddy Cage sitting in on For Love was fantastic, the Railroad Earth was sublime… and as always, My Sisters and Brothers was perfection.
Really, any time they start a show with Everything Comes Together, you know it’s going to be a […]
