a hobo's song

I wasn’t — I said so repeatedly on twitter and facebook, but no, everyone was all, “The sky is falling! They’ll ruin it!”

Really? As if Lucas already hadn’t shit on his own legacy? While there were some nice set pieces in the prequel trilogy, by and large it was a waste of time. Crappy stories, awful dialogue, and some actors who obviously wanted to be elsewhere — I’m looking at you, Natalie Portman. It’s not any fault of hers, mind you — Lucas made her say those awful lines and wear those awful clothes.

As to the legacy he shit on, really, only the original film and Empire are actually worthy of adulation in my most humble opinion.

With the news that J.J. Abrams is helming Episode VII, suddenly everyone is thrilled. It makes me want to say, “See, I told you they’d do it right.”  The only thing that might make me happier is Joss Whedon working on Episode VIII. And maybe Christopher Nolan on Episode IX.
